Enjoy 12 Wayang Stories in Wayang Museum By Scanning QR Code

We're committed to continue developing tourism sector in Jakarta

Jakarta Government launches a new innovation with digital technology basis through cooperation with Bank Indonesia at Wayang Museum, Kota Tua, West Jakarta. With the QR Code technology, visitors can read 12 wayang stories by scanning via android mobile. 

12 wayang stories that can be accessed are Wayang Revolusi, Wayang Beber, Wayang Kulit Kyai Intan, Wayang Cina Jawa, Wayang Golek, Wayang Sadat, Wayang Golek Cepak Cirebon, Wayang Klitik, Wayang Suket, Wayang Wahyu, Wayang Golek Lenong Betawi, and Wayang Kancil.

Jakarta Tourism and Culture Dept. Acting Head (Plt), Asiantoro mentioned, they can enjoy wayang stories in two languages, English and Bahasa (Indonesian Language).

"This innovation is not only to increase number of visitors, but also to encourage millennial generation to know more about their various cultures, especially Wayang," he conveyed at the launching event, Monday (12/17).

To access wayang stories, he explained, is free of charge.

"We're committed to continue developing tourism sector in Jakarta," he asserted.

In the same location, Bank Indonesia for Jakarta Representative Office Head, Tresno Nugroho said, this chance is also used to launch Indonesia Bersih movement, particularly for tourism in Jakarta.

"Since waste problem can give an impact to tourism sector, government should continue to maintain cleanliness in West Jakarta, especially Kota Tua as its flagship tourism destination," he conveyed.

He assessed, economic growth in Jakarta for these past five years is around six to seven percent. Government can make tourism and creative economy sectors as mainstay to maintain or even increase Jakarta's economic growth.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Secretary's Economy Acting Assistant (Plt), Sri Haryati mentioned, tourism and creative economy sectors should be developed continuously. This development can be focused by building cooperation with various parties.

"We will also increase budget allocation for tourism sector development. Our target is to increase local and foreign tourists visit every year," she stated.
